Thereafter, he began his career at Princeton University as Instructor of Chemistry, shifting from there to the University of Kansas and then to the University of California, where he remained for the rest of his life. Not satisfied with merely establishing the fact, he raised his voice against regular use of CFC and became instrumental to banning it first in the USA and later all over the world.
